Kacey Burke began her ballet training at age 5, soon adding jazz, tap, modern dance, and theater dance to her repertoire. When she was 11, Kacey attended the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance in New York City.

After attending North Carolina School of the Arts for her first year of high school, Kacey began year-round dance studies at The Rock School in Philadelphia. Kacey participated in summer dance programs at Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, The Rock School, and the American Ballet Theatre dance intensive in New York City. Summer 2000, she toured Europe with the Blue Lake International Ballet Ensemble, performing in Germany, France, and Belgium.

When she was 16, she placed first among senior dancers (ages 16-21) at the 2002 Festival of the Maryland Council for Dance. She has won dance scholarships to the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley, Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Dance Educators of America Convention, Blue Lake International Ballet Ensemble, North Carolina Dance Theatre DancePlace Summer Dance, North Carolina School of the Arts, Joffrey Ballet School Summer Dance Program, The Rock School, Richmond Ballet School Summer Dance Program, and The Mill Ballet School Summer Performance Workshop.

In addition to her ballet, jazz, tap, modern, and theater dance training, Kacey has taken classes in several styles, including African, character, Irish, and Scottish dance.  She performed in a number of classical and contemporary ballet pieces as a student, including the Pennsylvania Ballet The Nutcracker as Tea Corps for three years and The Rock School The Nutcracker, for which she was Dew Drop Fairy.  She was one of The Rock School students featured in the January 2003 NBC 10 television production of Degas and the Dance in conjunction with the Degas exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
